About Setlio Scales
Setlio Scales is a practise and learning tool for musicians. It shows how scales relate to each other, what notes and chords they contain, and lets you play along with a sustained drone.
What it does
Most scale references list formulas in isolation. Setlio Scales treats every scale as a short chain of one-note edits from major or natural minor, so you can see why a scale sounds the way it does and how it connects to ones you already know.
- Derivation paths — follow the one-note steps from a familiar scale to the one you are learning
- Notes and chords — spellings, degree formulas, and diatonic chords for any root
- Piano and fretboard diagrams — see the layout on keyboard or guitar (and other tunings)
- Drone practise — hold a root note and jam over the scale in your browser
Who it is for
Players who want a clearer mental map of modes, exotic scales, and how they grow from major and minor — whether you improvise, compose, or are building theory alongside the instrument.
Free and unlock
Major and natural minor (and any other scales marked free) are usable without an account. Sign in with Google to save favourites and known scales across devices. A one-time lifetime unlock opens the full library — no subscription. See Terms for details.
Get started
Browse scales on the home page, open a free scale to explore diagrams and chords, and turn on the drone when you are ready to practise.
